The Skippers men's basketball team defeated hocking on Sunday afternoon

  • The Skippers were led by sophomore Jakelyn Thomas who tallied 31 points and 5 rebounds.
  • Freshmen Collin Albert notched 18 points with a total of 5 rebounds, while Will Weems recorded 11 rebounds for the Skippers.
  • Sophomore Caron Clayton chipped in 11 points for the Skippers, while Kelvin Balfour added 6 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists for the Skippers.
  • Freshmen Jacob Barrett also added 4 points for the Skippers as well.
  • As a team, Skippers finished 31 for 69 (44.9%) from the field, while Hocking shot 31 for 79 (39.2%) from the floor.
  • The Skippers shot 6 for 16 (37.5%) from three-point range, and Hocking tallied 6 for 29 (20.7%) from the arc. 
  • The Skippers finished with 49 rebounds and Hocking finished with 37 rebounds. 
  • The Skippers controlled play down low, finishing with a 49-45 advantage in points.
  • Hocking was not sloppy with the ball committing only 15 turnovers in comparison to the Skippers with 25.
