Ball is named Head Bowling Coach

Laurynn Ball, Head Bowling coach

Skippers Athletics is excited to announce Laurynn Ball as the new head men's and women's bowling coach for St. Clair County Community College. Coach Ball accepted the role and is looking to continue the success the program has seen in its starting seasons.

Coach Ball knows the game well and has experience coaching at many different age levels. Prior to her time as an assistant coach at SC4, she coached high level and travel gymnastics for 4 years. Since joining the bowling coaching staff at SC4 in 2019, the teams have had national championship appearances each year, and this year, the women's team won the league title.

"My goal is to build the bowling program and make sure the teams and the students move forward as one." Coach Ball stated.  She continued, "Being the assistant coach at SC4 taught me many things, and now being named head coach I can't wait to see where these bowlers go."

Ball brings a strong understanding of student-athletes and the rigorous schedule they undertake. This past year, Ball herself was a member of the women's team and earned several awards including All-MCCAA Honors, MCCAA All-Freshmen honors, and she finished 13th overall in all-events category at the NJCAA Women's Bowling National Championship.

"With two national appearances as an assistant, my hope is for us to continue to have more and more appearances and champions. I want to not only build the program, but help the student's reach their goals academically as well."
