Skippers Wrestling 2020-21 Team Preview 

The Skippers wrestling team qualified 7 wrestlers last winter for the NJCAA Wrestling National Championship. This winter, they are looking for a repeat – and are aiming for more to qualify.  

Of last year's seven National Qualifiers, more than half are returning for the Skippers: Jack Jewell, Mike Nykoriak, Ashton Philburn and Cody Wood. Each of these wrestlers got a glimpse of a NJCAA title and are hungry for another shot this winter. Coach Klink is looking to these Skippers to lead the rest of the team back to the championship.

Key newcomers are Cameron Haslem, Robert Jewell, and Chris Lilly.  

Coach Jason Klink said, "Halsem will provide us a much needed depth at our lighter weights, and help round out our roster on that end." R. Jewell is a transfer who was a National Qualifier in 2018 at another school, and Lilly was a high school State Champion who brings a strong work ethic and winning mindset.  

Rounding out the newcomers to Skippers Wrestling this winter are Sean Kreda and Richard Trudo.  

Coach Klink and his crew are working towards a league title, many national qualifiers, and hopefully some All-NJCAA honors. Coach Klink said, "We are looking to continue improving all year long. It is aiming high, but that is what we are working towards."
