Steven Gura will be in his second season as head coach of the Skipprs' Clay Target squad in 2026-27.
Gura was an integral part in starting the Clay Target program at SC4. The Skippers had one of the top female shooters in SC4's division during the fall of 2025 season as well. The Clay Target team served as Gura's first foray into coaching.
While not a student-athlete himself, Gura has stayed active in the athletics world. He has run obstacle races (Spartan, Swampfoot, Battlefrog, and Savage), as well as some road races such as the 5k, 10k, and the Crim. Gura also shoots for recreation.
He graduated from Oakland University with a BSN in 1997, and finished his master's degree in Nursing Education (MSN-ed) in 2023 from Post University.
