Jermaine Drake will be in his first season as assistant coach of the Skippers' women's basketball team in 2026-27.
Drake is also an assistant coach for SC4's women's cross country and women's track squads -- both positions he also will begin in 2026-27.
In addition to his busy coaching schedule with the Skippers, Drake is also the current Head Coach at Port Huron High School in girls varsity basketball.
The return to SC4 closes a full circle for Drake, as he began his time at the college as a student-athlete in basketball. Drake played in 47 games for SC4, while making 26 starts in both 2016-17 and 2017-18 combined. He averaged 7.2 points per game, 2.3 rebounds per game, and 1.3 assists per game while averaging just under 20 minutes per contest. He graduated from SC4 in 2019 with an associate's degree.
However, Drake is still a student as he is working on his bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University. He also has run track for EMU.
Drake is no stranger to the basketball world, as further shown by his appearances in semi-pro basketball, as well as coaching AAU squads.
