The Skippers tie the first game of the season

Marysville, MI – The Skippers hosted Rochester Christian College for a 7:00 PM matchup under the lights on Saturday (Aug. 31). It was the first men's soccer game in SC4 history!

The Skippers would jump on the board first when Renato Katrip scored an unassisted goal in the 27th minute of the game. The lead would hold until a Rochester shot found the back of the net to tie the game in the 83rd minute. SC4 was unable to match the goal, and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Jaden Gil had a solid night between the pipes. He allowed 1 goal but tallied 5 saves. Along with his goal, Renato Katrip took 6 total shots, finding the target on 4 of them. Gabriel Raji took for shots, 2 of them on goal, while Doui Christ Goumba and Javier Garcia Tunon Perez added 3 shots to the team's effort.

The Skippers start the season 0-0-1 and now prepare to host Grand Rapids Community College on Tuesday (Sept. 3) at 1:00 PM.
