Louisville, KY - The men's Skippers cross country team had a successful weekend in Louisville, Kentucky, competing in the Live in the Lou Cross Country Classic hosted by University of Louisville. Campbell's efforts allowed him a 31st place finish out of 189 runners. Vinny Schweihofer also ran a personal record of 28:55 and placed 60th as the team's #3 runner. Schweihofer shaved 23 seconds off his previous best. Lance Kowalski was merely seconds behind Schweihofer, placing 65th with a time of 29:02. Trent Glass completed the team's scoring as the 5th runner. Glass ran a personal record of 29:33, cutting 30 seconds off his previous best. Vinny's Take:

"The whole time I was there, seeing the other runners racing or even just warming up, I kept getting chills with excitement for both my team and myself. When the gun went off and the race started, I just knew it was going be a great and fast race. When it comes to my time, that's all I was thinking about throughout the whole race, motivating me to keep going. I really wanted to go 28:30 and that's what I kept repeating. Although I didn't hit that goal, I still ran hard and I am proud of my time. Seeing how much my time is going down each race and seeing the improvement in my teammates, I'm super excited for Regionals. As much as I don't care for the Goodells course, it will be awesome to see how much my performance has improved on the same course."

The Skippers next competition is Saturday, October 12 at the Jayhawk Invitational hosted by Muskegon Community College.
