The Skippers opened scoring in the first after an error scored one run. Henry Ford struck back and tied the game in the bottom of the first. The Skippers took the lead in the top of the third inning after Isabella Pesina grounded into a fielder's choice, MaKynna Saltzman doubled down the right field line, and Natalie Sauer grounded out each scoring a run.
Henry Ford again came back and tied the game in the bottom of the third, thanks to a double and a single.
The Skippers made the score 7-6 in the top of the fifth inning when Carley Kalbfleisch hit a solo home run to center field, and an error scored one run.
Lilian Osborne went six innings, giving up 11 runs on 9 hits, striking out 2 and walking 5.
Kalbfleisch and Annabelle Schneider each collected two hits for the Skippers. Saltzman, Kalbfleisch, Taylor Turkin, Natalie Sauer, and Pesina each drove in one run. Schneider stole two bases.
Game 2 on the day ended in a 2-1 loss for the Skippers. The pitching was strong as the Skippers struck out four. Jenna Maday went six innings, surrendering two runs on nine hits, striking out four and walking two.
