Women's Bowling: Santo Takes Home Top Conference Honors

PORT HURON, MI- St. Clair County Community College freshman bowler Sophia Santo was named the MCCAA Eastern Conference Bowler of the Year! Sano was also named MCCAA Eastern Conference Freshman of the Year and she was placed on the All-Conference team and All-Freshman team.

On top of being named Eastern Conference Player of the Year Clark was also named Freshman of the Year and to the MCCAA team, Eastern Conference First Team, and Eastern Conference All-Freshman Team.

Sophia got off to a fast start this season winning the first two matches of her collegiate career. Sophia never finished outside the top 7 in any of the events she bowled in this season. She knocked down a conference leading 2053 pins the season which makes her average game score 171.

Along with Sophia's awards, sophomore Mackenzie Monier was named to the MCCAA Eastern Conference All-Conference team! Her and Santo created a formidable one-two punch for the Skippers bowlimh teams this season.

Congratulations ladies!

Santo, Monier, and the rest of the bowling team are getting prepared for the MCCAA bowling championship on Friday (Feb. 9) and the NJCAA Region 12 championship on the following Friday, February 16th.
