Marysville, MI – The Skippers hosted a double header against Grand Rapids Community College on Tuesday (Sept. 3). The men started at 1:00 PM and the women kicked off at 3:00 PM. The Skippers came into this game 0-1 and looking for a bounce back after dropping a close game to the Delta Pioneers.
There wasn't much excitement in this one as Jessica Peters opened the scoring for the Skippers, finding the goal on a shot in the first minute of the game. That's all the offense we would see as SC4 pulled up a 1-0 over the Raiders.
Goalkeeper Amirra Tello was a wall saving al 4 shots on goal from Grand Rapids. Jessica Peters finished with 4 shots on goal and the lone goal of the game. Tara Malone and Sara Russell also took shots.
With this win Skippers move to 1-1 on the early season and head coach Karic Jones picks up his first career win. They will be back in action on Saturday, September 14th when the host Kellogg Community College. The game will star at 1:00 PM.
