Port Huron, MI – The Skippers opened their cross-country season at Goodells County Park in the Skippers Cross Country Showcase. The event consisted of all of the community colleges in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA).

SC4 had a successful start to their season, they finished the race in second place finishing behind Grand Rapids Community College. They finished with 66 team points and had 2 runners finish within the top 10.

Grace Wessel crossed the line first for the Skippers, finishing in 3^rd place running a time of 20:22. Next to finish was freshman Lily Lemanski who finished in 20:53, followed by Olivia Crawford who ran the course in 22:03. Rounding out the team for the Skippers were freshmen Jenna Denver and Laela Bhatti, running times of 22:17and 23:12 respectively.

The Skippers will take a week off before traveling to East Lansing to run in the Spartan Invite on September 13^th.
