Three Skippers run at the national championship

RICHMOND, VA - The lady Skippers concluded their cross-country post-season on Saturday, November 9th. Lily Lemanski, Jenna Denver and Laela Bhatti ran their final 5k race of the season at Pole Green Park in Richmond, VA. The course consisted of one 1k loop and two 2k loops before veering off to the finish line. All three runners ran with confidence and integrity while proudly representing SC4.

Lemanski was the first Skipper to cross the line taking 44th place amongst 317 runners. Lemanski's time of 20:03 is her 2nd best time of the season. Denver finished in a time of 21:31, taking 11th place. While Bhatti finished close behind in 126th place, with a time of 21:34.

Freshman Jenna Denver added her thoughts, "I think that the team raced very diligently at nationals. Even though there were only three of us, we all worked hard and gave it all we had on the course. For me personally, it wasn't my best race, but I am still proud to have had the opportunity to race. It was a great course to end this year's season and I am proud of my accomplishments and my fellow teammates with not only this meet but the entire season."

The Skippers will take a short break from training before gearing up for the indoor track season.
