Head coach Akilah Edmondson only lead the Skippers for one season, but she made it a memorable one.

The Skippers finished the season 23-12, including a 10-6 conference record, which was good enough to qualify for the district tournament. The entry ticket was all they needed. As the 5th seed in the tournament the Skippers played spoiler, upsetting the number 4 seed Delta, the top seeded Oakland, and the number 3 seed Macomb on their way to the district championship and a return trip to the NJCAA National Championship in Kansas. For their performance in the district tournament, Leah Humes was named the tournament MVP and Briann Alspaugh made the All-Tournament team.

At the National Championship, SC4 dropped their first game before bouncing back and winning the next two games. The Skippers lost the finale to finish 8th in the country. Kendal Stoll was selected to the NJCAA All-Tournament team.

Three members of the team were recognized with postseason honors. Sophomore Leah Humes was named 1st Team All-Region, All-MCCAA, 1st Team All-Eastern Conference, and was a member of the All-Defense team. Madison Valko earned 2nd Team All-Eastern Conference honors, and Kendall Stoll was named to the 3rd Team All-Eastern Conference.

“This team has taught me that if you have faith, put in the work, and if you are able to build trusting relationships, you will always win,” said coach Edmondson. “Coaching this team has been one of the best experiences in my life.”

Team members included Tamira McCoy-Motton, Keegan Nelson, Leah Humes, Da’Neesha Bracey, Madison Valko, Caitlyn Carlson, Tierra Kelley, Jordan Johnson, Jenna Boyl, Lauren Lewis, Carlie Theume, Kendall Stoll, and Briann Alspaugh. Head coach Akilah Edmondson was assisted by Lucretia Bowerman and Chrishonda Miles.
