Mike Groulx

Mike Groulx is in his first season back as head coach of the Skippers in 2023-24.
 
He was most recntly an assistant coach at Canisius college from 2016-2018. Before that he spent two seaons at Eastern Michigan University.
 
In 2014-15 Eastern Michigan boasted a 24-13 record, the most wins in the program’s history. The squad also advanced to the Mid-American Conference Championship and played its way to the Sweet 16 of the WNIT.
 
In 2015, Groulx helped the Eagles to a 22-12 overall record and a MAC semifinal appearance in postseason play. For the second-straight season the Eagles made it to the WNIT and advanced to the second-round of the tournament.
 
Prior to joining Eastern Michigan, Groulx served as interim head coach with St. Clair Country Coummunity College. In his interim season with SC4, Groulx took a 9-9 program and led it to the Region 12 District H Championship and a spot in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Tournament. Groulx was named Region 12 District H Coach of the Year following his first season as head coach of the Skippers.
 
In the 2013-14 season, SC4 made its third-straight appearance in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament, finishing fourth, while Groulx garnered both MCCAA Coach of the Year and NJCAA District H Coach of the Year honors. The squad set a school record with a 26-game win streak, won its second straight conference title and  garnered back-to-back state titles. Six members of the 2013-14 St. Clair County Community College women’s basketball team earned all-conference accolades, including Rachel Kehoe who was a MCCAA Honorable Mention All-Conference selection; two student-athletes grabbed all-region honors and two were named to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament All-Tournament team.
 
Prior to being named the head coach of the women’s basketball program, Groulx spent six seasons as an assistant coach with the SC4 men’s basketball program. The 2009-10 Skippers won the regional championship and placed eighth at the NJCAA National Tournament.
 
Groulx graduated from St. Clair County Community College in 2005 with an associate of general studies degree and an associate of arts degree before going on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in multi-disciplinary studies from Siena Heights University in 2011.
