Three Skippers Baseball Players Awarded All-MCCAA Honors

PORT HURON, MI- Three St. Clair County Community College Baseball players have been selected to the 2023 All-Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) teams. Sophomore pitcher/utility Brendan Seman was named to the All-Region XII and All-MCCAA teams as well as First Team All-Eastern Conference. Freshman infielder Brendan Battani and sophomore Pitcher Beau Becker were both named Eastern Conference Honorable Mention.

Brendan Seman impressed both on the mound and at the plate this season. As a pitcher Seman started 7 games. In those 7 games he struck out 42 hitters in 34 innings and finished with a 3.71 ERA. His numbers get more impresive as a hitter. Brendan led the team in hits with 35, slugging percentage at .477, and extra base hits with 14, including 3 home runs. He also tallied 20 runs and 17 RBIs. He hit .315 with a .371 OBP on the season.

Brendan Battani made his presence felt at the plate in his freshman year at SC4. He batted an impressive .326 while also driving in 16 runs and scoring 20 more. Battani also boasted a team high .480 OBP and slugged .379.

Beau Becker was dominant on the mound for the Skippers this year. He made 10 appearances this year, starting 3 of them and throwing 34.1 innings. Becker used those 10 appearances to compile a 2.88 ERA and 37 strikeouts.
