Baseball: SC4 Loses Offensive Battle with Westminster College

Myrtle Beach, SC - The Skippers closed out their Wednesday in South Carolina with a game against Westminster College (PA) JV.

The Skippers opened this high-scoring game with 4 runs in the bottom of the first inning before Westminster responded with 7 in the second. The game continued with both teams scoring in large numbers until Westminster put the nail in the coffin scoring 6 runs in the seventh. Spencer McMahan went 2 for 2 including a double, single, and two walks scoring 3 runs. Gavin Tencza had a homerun and Porter Kays had a triple in the Skipper's 11 runs.

On the mound for the Skippers was Jake Goebel who pitched 1.2 innings allowing 6 runs, 3 hits, and walking 3 batters. Oliver Lewis finished off that inning allowing one run, one hit, and walking one batter. Kaden Kovach pitched 4.2 innings for the Skippers allowing the last 12 runs and 11 hits including a home run. Getting the last out for the Skippers was Louis Frontero who allowed one hit and ended the game.

The Skippers will finish their trip with a game against Northampton on Thursday and Penn State York on Friday.
