Baseball: The Skippers Lose a Close One at Jackson

Jackson, MI - The Skippers traveled to Jackson to play a single 9-inning game on Thursday, March 19th.

Jackson opened the scoring early putting up 1 run in the 1st and 2nd innings.. The score went back and forth until Jackson ended up with a 2 run lead. The Skips rallied but were unable to complete the comeback and lost the game 5-4. Hunter Filber had an RBI triple and scored one of the Skipper's runs. Both Joeseph Parinello III and Porter Kays hit doubles for the Skippers and Jonah Miranda had an RBI off of a Sac Fly and stole a base.

Dylan Ledford started on the mound for the Skippers pitching 3 innings and allowing 3 runs, walking 3 batters, and striking out 3. Jeff Preston stepped up in relief and threw 1.2 innings allowing 1 run, 3 hits, and walking 3 batters. Closing out the game was Deaven McWain who pitched 3.1 innings and held the Jets to just 1 run on 3 hits and 2 walked batters.

The Skippers next contest will be against the Schoolcraft College Ocelots at home on Saturday, March 23rd in a single 9-inning game.
