Skipper Men's basketball ranked 17th in the Nation

The Skipper Men's basketball team is ranked 17th in the Nation

The NJCAA Division II basketball rankings have been released for week 4 and the the SC4 men's basketball team has re-entered the top 20 after receiving votes the last three weeks. The Skippers are riding a 6 game win streak after dropping their first contest of the year versus the Lakeland Lakers. The team has been averaging 95 points per game while shooting a hair under 50% from the field at 49.8%. During their win streak they were also able to seek revenge on the Lakers after an early season loss as they beat the #6 ranked Lakers by a score of 84-73 on November the 18th in a matchup at the SC4 Fieldhouse.

The Skippers offense has been paced by transfer guard Jakylen Thomas as the sophomore is averaging just over 20 points per game in his first year as a Skipper. Kelvin Balfour is averaging 17.1 points per game while the lone returner Caron Clayton is chipping in 13 points per game. The fourth Skipper that is averaging over 10 points a game is freshman Collin Albert who averages 10.4 points per contest.

Up next for the Skippers is a rematch with the Pioneers from Delta College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 tomorrow night with the women slated to tip-off at 5:30.
