Danville, IL – The Skippers were in Danville Illinois playing in the NJCAA National Tournament Sweet 16 on Tuesday (March 19). They were the 10th seed playing the 7th seeded Parkland College.
SC4 got off to a hot start taking an 18-9 lead before allowing Parkland back into the game. They would trail at halftime 35-28. Parkland led most of the second half but never had a lead greater than 10 points. The Skippers battled back and took a 3-point lead with 12:41 to go. Parkland would jump back in front but SC4 had a shot to tie the game down 2 with 7 seconds left but would miss. The final score was 64-60.
Isaiah Jones had a big game. He scored 19 points while bringing in 5 rebounds. La'Tavius Vaughter scored 10 points and Zaveon Little pulled down a team high 11 rebounds. Off the bench Zahki Fallen scored 9 points.
While this loss ends the Skippers National Champion hopes they continue to play until they lose a second time. They could play up to 3 more games and could walk away with a 7th place finish in the country.
Their next game will be on Thursday (March 21) at 3:00 PM eastern time against Florida State College at Jacksonville.
