Men's Basketball: Skippers Stay Alive With Win

Danville, IL – The Skippers were in Danville Illinois playing in the consolation bracket of the NJCAA National Tournament on Thursday (March 21). They were the 10th seed playing the 18th seeded Florida State College at Jacksonville in an elimination game.

SC4 got off to a sluggish start, trailing by 9 points at one time. They would wake up and go on a 29-7 run and would eventually take a 36-28 lead into halftime. The game would get as close as 3 points early in the second half, but for the most part it was all SC4. They would win the game 87-72.

Once again Isaiah Jones led the scoring for the Skippers with 20 points while also tallying 20 rebounds and blocking 3 shots. La'Tavius Vaughter scored 15. Zaveon Little had a double-double with 14 points, including 4 3-pointers, and 10 rebounds. Off the bench Zahki Fallen scored 14 as well.

This win keeps the Skippers season alive as the fight for a 7th place finish in the country.

They will take on Pima Community College out of Arizona on Friday, March 22. The game will tip off at 12:00 PM (ET).
