Men's Basketball: SC4 is on to the Championship Game

Flint, MI – The Skippers were on the campus of Mott Community College playing in the NJCAA Great Lakes District C semifinal game on Friday (March 8) against the Mid Michigan College Lakers. The Skippers and Lakers met once previously this year with Mid Michigan defeating the Skippers on the first game on the season.

This game felt like postseason game. The first half was all back and forth, ending in a tie at 39 all. The Skippers got off to a slow start out of halftime before roaring back and taking a lead. The gam stayed close until the end with Mid Michigan having plenty of chances to take a lead late but they couldn't get it done. SC4 would take the revenge game win 86-80.

The Skippers were led by La'Tavius Vaughter who scored 20 poins and hauled in 5 rebounds. Isaiah Jones had a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. He also added in 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks in a do it all performance. Zaveon Little added in 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Tyler Hamilton scored 12 and dished out 7 assists while Daquan Coleman dumped in 11. All five SC4 starters scored in double figures.

This win moves SC4 into the NJCAA Great Lakes District C championship game where they await the winner of Lakeland Community College and Kellogg Community College. The game will be played on Sunday, March 10 at 11:00 AM.
