Men's Bowling: SC4 Takes 4th at MCCAA Championship

Livonia, MI – The SC4 bowling teams traveled to Meri-Bowl Lanes to compete in the MCCAA Bowling Championship on Friday (2/9). The event was hosted by Schoolcraft College.

The Skippers finished 4th at the event with a 1812 pin total for two games. During the team portion of the event Cameron Schomburg led the way with a 290 (234, 256). Colby Irwin bowled a total score of 374 (195, 179), while Gabe Hollenbeck was right behind him bowling a 368 (166, 202). Rounding up the five bowlers were Elliot Purdy and Aiden Briguglio who bowled a 312 (133, 179) and 268 (125, 143) respectively.

During the doubles portion of the event the team of Irwin and Schomburg led SC4. They combined to knock over 1168 pins. Colby was good for 596 (193, 156, 247) of them while Cameron added in 572 (155, 181, 236). Next up was the freshman duo, Paul Camire and Gabe Hollenbeck whole bowled a team score of 1033. Right behind them was Purdy and Briguglio with a 1028.

The singles event finished with Aiden Briguglio continuing his hot streak and leading the Skippers with a 601 (223, 190, 188) pin total. Behind him was Cam Schomburg who knocked over 590 (211, 213, 166) pins. Elliot Purdy was good for 552 (191, 181, 180) pins and Skylar Brohl bowled a three-game score of 524 (149, 206, 169).

The team will be back competing on Friday, February 16 in Lansing, MI for the NJCAA Region 12 Championships looking to qualify for the NJCAA National Championships.
