Fremont, OH - The Skippers traveled to Terra State to compete for a doubleheader on Saturday, March 9th to conclude their spring break trip.

In game 1, SC4 opened the scoring by putting up five runs in the 1st and five in the 2nd going up by 10 before Terra State could blink. The Skippers continued to score runs until their lead became insurmountable. SC4 won 20-10 in 5 innings. Alexis Perrin went 4-4 including a double, a triple, and 4 runs scored. The Skippers had a total of 16 RBIs from 7 different batters including a homerun by Isabella Pesina.

In the pitcher's circle, MaKynna Saltzman got the start carrying the Skippers to a win in their first game of the day. She walked 11 batters, struck out 4, and allowed 10 runs, and 6 hits.

In the second game, the Skippers picked up right where they left off by scoring in every inning of the game. Sarah Fantin had a great game going 4-5 with a double, 2 RBIs, and 3 stolen bases. MaKynna Saltzman had 5 RBIs, a double, and a triple while Mira Helsel had a homerun and 2 RBIs. The Skippers had a total of 19 hits leading to a 17-8 final in 5 innings.

Brandi Bassett was on the mound and pitched all 5 innings allowing 8 runs and 12 hits to Terra State. Of the 31 batters she faced, Bassett walked 3 and struck out 4 winning her first game of the season.

The Skippers are now set to travel home and prepare to face Mid-Michigan at home on Saturday, March 16th.
