Skippers cruise past Lumberjacks 71-39

The SC4 Women's Basketball stifling defense helped lead the team to a big win vs Alpena Community College on Friday night. A game that saw the Skippers lead throughout provided them the opportunity to play 13 different players with 10 of them scoring. The three-ball played to SC4's advantage as they shot an impressive 41% on 7-17 shooting from deep. The defense was able to hold the Lumberjacks to just 2-13 shooting from beyond the arc.

The Skippers totaled an impressive 19 steals in the victory. Sara Lohr and Christina Bohm each had four steals on the night. Lohr was one of four players to score in double digits as she finished with 10 points. Bohm also provided the Skippers help on the glass as she finished with 7 rebounds. Freshman Arlonna Twitty scored 11 points to go along with 3 steals and 3 assists. Morgan McConnell also had 3 steals on the defensive end and pulled in 4 rebounds. 

Leading the Skippers on the night for scoring was Dareonna Little as she shot an efficient 75% from the field, sinking 9 of 12 shots. She finished with 19 points to go along with a team high 8 rebounds. 

The Skippers will be back in action tomorrow as they host the Lakers of Mid Michigan College in the SC4 Fieldhouse for day two of the Skippers Tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 PM.
