Port Huron, MI – The Skippers women's basketball team went 2-0 during the Skippers Classic to continue their 3 game winnings streak and improve 3-1 on the season.

The women's side of the event included Clark St. College, Marian University Ancilla, Milwaukee Area Technical College and SC4

SC4 opened the event on Friday (Nov. 17) night with a 68-49 win over Clark St. College.  They used a 16-4 run at the end of the first half to create a 40-26 halftime lead and never looked back. The Skippers shot 41.5% from the field and 35.7% from behind the arc, while holding Clark St. to just 26.4% and 22.7%. Arlonna Twitty led the way with 23 points on 9-14 shooting from the field. Bailey Gormley and Karmyn Lowry both added in 10 points and 8 rebounds.

On Saturday (Nov. 18) the Skippers sailed past the Lakers of Lakeland Community College. Similar story as they used another big run (18-4) to close out the first half with a 44-26 lead which they never relinquished in an 83-62 victory. Once again Arlonna Twitty was the leading scorer for the Skippers tallying 15 points and 7 rebounds. Karmyn Lowry, Bailey Gormley, and Madelyn Smith all added in 14 while Ava Grant scored 10. Mia Jacobs hauled in 9 boards.

The Skippers will travel to Muskegon to take on the Jayhawks Tuesday Nov. 21. Their next home game is Friday Dec. 1 at 6:00 pm vs. Alpena CC.
