Women's Basketball: SC4 Drops a Tough One to Macomb Community College

Port Huron, MI – SC4 hosted the Macomb Community College Monarchs on Saturday (Feb. 17) as part of a Pink Our game for Breast Cancer awareness.

The Skippers came out flat and were never able to get everything clicking at once. They took a 35-19 lead into halftime but a tough 3rd quarter saw Macomb take a four point lead that SC4 was never able to overcome. They would lose the game 62-58.

The Skippers had had four of their five starters hit the double figure scoring mark during the game. Amanda Kitchen scored 14 points while bringing down 8 rebounds. Madelyn Smith scored 13 points. Both Bailey Gormley and Arlonna Twitty score added 10.

SC4 dropped to 21-3 overall and 8-2 in the conference. Despite the loss they still have their hands on the top spot in the MCCAA Eastern Conference and control their own destiny when it comes to winning the conference.

The Skippers will look to bounce back this Wednesday (Feb. 21) when they host Wayne County Community College at 5:30 PM. This is the women's last home regular season game. Because of that there will be a sophomore tribute right before the game.
