Women's Basketball: Skippers Fall to Mid-Michigan in MCCAA Championship Game

Flint, MI – The Skippers traveled back to Mott Community College on Saturday (March 2) for the Michigan Community College Athletic Association Championship (MCCAA) game against the Mid-Michigan Lakers.

SC4 knocked off Southwestern College in the semi-finals on Friday (March1) night to advance to the championship game.

The game was close throughout the first half, Mid-Michigan would take a 28-21 lead into halftime. The Skippers would bounce back out of the locker room and get as close as six points in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, SC4 ran out of steam and the Lakers would come away with a 60-41 victory and the MCCAA Championship.

It was a slow offensive day for SC4 with no one scoring double figures. Bailey Gormley led the Skippers with 9 points and 7 rebounds. Amanda Kitchen scored 8 and pulled down 12 rebounds.

SC4 will now wait until Thursday (March 7) to play in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Great Lakes District C semifinal game at Mott Community College. The game will start at 6:00 PM. Their opponent will be decided Tuesday (March 5) night in a game between Muskegon Community College and Delta College.
