Women's Basketball: SC4 Falls in the Championship Game.

Flint, MI – The Skippers were on the campus of Mott Community College playing in the NJCAA Great Lakes District B championship game on Saturday (March 9) against the Southwest Michigan College Roadrunners. This was a rematch of the MCCAA semifinal game played at Mott CC last Friday.

Southwest Michigan was shot out of a cannon to start the game, jumping out to a 6-0 lead before the Skippers could blink. Sc4 would quiet their run but at the end of the first quarter the Roadrunners held a 20-12 lead. After a relatively even second quarter Southwest took a 35-26 lead into the halftime break. Once again, the Roadrunners came out of the locker room strong and improved on their lead in the third quarter. SC4 would gain some ground in the fourth quarter but ultimately it was too little too late and they would lose 69-56.

Amanda Kitchen had a huge 20-20 game scoring 23 points and pulling down 21 rebounds. Bailey Gormley scored 14 to go along with 6 rebounds. Arlonna Twitty scored 10 points and had 6 assists.

For their performance in both of the tournament games Bailey Gormley and Amanda Kitchen were named to the NJCAA Great Lakes District B All-Tournament Team.

This loss ends the season for SC4 at 25-5. It was an impressive season for the Skippers ad the first season back at the helm for head coach Mike Groulx.

Congratulations of a great season!
