Women's Bowling: Three Skippers Qualify for Nationals While Santo and Monier Take Home a Bundle of Awards at the NJCAA Region 12 Championship

Lansing, MI – The SC4 bowling teams traveled to Royal Scot Bowling Center in Lansing to compete in the NJCAA Region 12 Bowling Championship on Friday (2/16).

The freshman phenom Sophia Santo earned the NJCAA Region 12 Women's Bowling All-Event title! She totaled 1488 pins for the event. That pin total comes from her game scores from the doubles series (556), singles series (577), and two team games (163, 192). Her 577 in the singles portion was good enough for second place.

The Skippers duo of Sophia Santo and Mackenzie Monier took home the NJCAA Region 12 Women's Bowling Doubles Championship! The two combined to knock over 1122 pins. Monier led the way with 566 (200, 156, 210) and Santo added 556 (185, 174, 197).

For their performance at the championships both Sophia Santo and Mackenzie Monier qualified for the All-Regin team! The team is comprised of the top 6 highest all-event pin counts.

Along with the All-Region team, both Santo and Monier, along with sophomore Ashley Bales, have qualified for the NJCAA Women's Bowling National Championship! The three will head to Lansing, MI to compete February, 29 through March, 2.
