Dearborn, MI – The Skippers wrestling team took a trip to Henry Ford College on Saturday (12/2) to wrestling in the Hawks Invitational.
The event was an open event with no team scores recorded.
The skippers had five wrestlers participate in the event. Stephen Hertzfeld wrestled in the 125 lbs. weight class, finishing 3rd place with 9.0 points. Aaron Evely didn't place competing in the 149 lbs. weight class. Sophomore La'Ron Ruffin brought home a 2nd place finish with 11.0 points in the 157 lbs. class while fellow sophomore Ashton Light wrestled in the 184 lbs. division and also finished in 2nd place scoring 14.0 points. Leroy Burns competed in the heavy weight, 285 lbs., division and didn't place in the event.

The next time the Skippers will be on the mats will be Saturday December 9th, when they host the Skippers Open at the SC4 Fieldhouse.
