Port Huron, MI – The SC4 wrestling team hosted the Skippers Open on Saturday (12/9). The open included wrestlers from the University of Olivet, Cleary University, Rochester University, Michigan State University's club team and Grand Valley State University's Club team as well as the Skippers.

The event was an open event with no team scores recorded.

The skippers had five wrestlers participate in the event. La'Ron Ruffin won his weight class wrestling at 157 lbs! Stephen Hertzfeld wrestled in the 125 lbs. weight class, finishing 5^th. Aaron Evely placed 5^th competing in the 149 lbs. weight class while fellow sophomore Ashton Light wrestled in the 184 lbs. division and finished in 2^nd place. Leroy Burns competed in the heavy weight, 285 lbs., division and finished 3^rd at the event.

The next time the Skippers will hit the mats to compete will be next Saturday December 16 at Muskegon Community College for the MCCAA Duels.
