Port Huron, MI – SC4 hosted the 2024 Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Individual Wrestling Championships on Saturday, January 27^th.

The event featured all of the MCCAA wrestling teams which included Southwestern Michigan College, Henry Ford College, Mott Community College, Muskegon Community College and St. Clair County Community College.

Southwestern Michigan College was crowned the champions of the event while SC4 finished in 6^th place.

The skippers had four wrestlers participate in the event. Sophomore Brendan Maybee was the conference champion in the 149 lbs. division! Maybee scored 14 team points. Ashton Light finished second in the 184 lbs. weight class after falling by decision in the 1^st place match. He scored 11 points for the Skippers. Freshman Stephen Hertzfeld ended the tournament with a 3^rd place finish wrestling at 125 lbs. and scoring 3 team points. The last SC4 wrestler was Leroy Burns who wrestled at 285 lbs. but did not place.

The next time the Skippers will hit the mats to compete is on February 4^th when they wrestle in the Whizzer Open hosted by Henry Ford College. The even starts at 10:00 AM.
