Flint, MI – The Skippers competed in the NJCAA Midwest District Championships on Saturday (Feb. 17) hosted at Mott Community College.

The match was an open event with no team scores recorded. But it featured wrestlers from the host school Mott Community College, Triton College (IL), Southwest Michigan College, Harper College (IL), Morton College (IL), Henry Ford College, Ancilla College (IN), Muskegon Community College, Joliet Junior College (IL), and St. Clair County Community College.

The Skippers sent two wrestlers to the championships. Brendan Maybee wrestled in the 149 lbs. weight class where he finished 3^rd overall. Ashton Light wrestled in the 184 lbs. weight class where he finished second, coming up short in the championship match.

Although both Maybe and Light fell short of 1^st place in their respective weight class, they both qualified for the NJCA Wrestling National Championship! They will travel to Council Bluff, IA to wrestle against the best in the country March 1^st and 2^nd.
