The Skippers women's soccer team dropped their road matchup against the Lakeland Community College Lakers on October 15, 2021, in Kirtland Ohio. Starting lineup for the Skippers was Lauren Morris, Courtney Pagel, Joslyn Williams, Rachel Froehlich, Gillion Gordon, Christina LaBudie, Hannah Schuchard, Kylee Crane, Katlyn Judd, Olivia Storm, and the keeper was Kacey Szczepkowski.

Inside the Numbers

Leading the skippers with five shots on goal was Joslyn Williams.

Hannah Schuchard and Lauren Morris both tallied one shot on goal each.

Skippers notched a total of six corners kicks and one offsides call.

Lakeland was lead by Molly Vitcusky.

How it Happened 

With an assist from Rae Sirl to Molly Vitcusky at the 9-minute mark of the first half, the Lakers were able to take the lead 1-0. The second half remained evenly matched as both teams continued to attack the net. In the last 12 minutes of the game, the Skippers stepped up the pace and applied more pressure on the Lakers. Unfortunately, their comeback fell short and the Skippers fell 1-0 to the Lakers.

The Skippers travel to School Craft College on Wednesday, October 20th to take on the Ocelots. The game is scheduled to start at 3:00 PM.
