Grand Rapids, MI - The SC4 women's cross country team captured it's first MCCAA and Region XII title in school history on Saturday. The 9th ranked Skippers finished with 74 points as a team to claim both titles.

The team was led by freshman Grace Wessel who ran a time of 20:12.8 which was good enough for a 6th place finish. Not far behind her was Jessica Denver who finished 9th and ran a 20:31.9. Mary Kaminski finished with a time of 21:06.3 (15th) followed by Kayla McIntyre who finished in 21:33.2 (20th) to round out the top 20. The last two Skippers to cross the line were Elizabeth Baldwin who ran a time of 22:24.9 and Elizabeth Sliman at 22:42.3 finishing back to back at 33rd and 34th.

With the Championships, head coach Andrea Rheaume was named the Region XII and MCCAA coach of the year!

The Skippers will now get ready to compete at the NJCAA Division II National Championship at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama on November 11th.
