Laurie Charron has been coaching the Starlites Dance program at the Port Huron Physical Arts Center since 1999, where she’s coached thousands of girls and earned many awards from competitions across the country. This past fall, she took on her latest challenge of starting a dance team at SC4.
Jamie Rich barely remembers life before dancing. Her career began at two years old and then she started dancing competitively at age five. Now she’s heading into her sophomore year at SC4 and still doing the thing she loves most.
The 2019-2020 SC4 Dance season was already a short one due to its late start in December, and it was cut even shorter after Covid-19 swept the country and shut down the season for good. But that didn’t stop the Skippers from coming together and mastering a routine that led them to a sixth-place finish in the Elite Open Hip Hop division at the United States AllStar Federation Dance Worlds competition.

Through a SC4 Athletics partnership with the Huron Physical Arts Center (HPAC) in downtown Port Huron, the team will be coached by Laurie Charron, owner and head coach of the State, Regional and National Champion Starlites Competitive Dance Team organization.
