Will Goebel

Will Goebel

Will is in his first season as assistant coach for the Skippers in 2025-26.

A standout pitcher at L’Anse Creuse High School in Harrison Township, Goebel served as team captain during both his junior and senior seasons. He earned all-conference, all-district, all-region, and all-state honors, establishing himself as one of the premier arms in the state. During his junior campaign, he posted an impressive 8–2 record with a 1.23 ERA, striking out 86 batters across 57.1 innings. His senior season, widely anticipated, was cut short due to the COVID‑19 shutdown.

Goebel continued his playing career at the Division I level with Indiana State University, where he made multiple no-hit relief appearances over two seasons. He later transferred to Grand Valley State University, spending his final three collegiate seasons as a key component of the Lakers’ bullpen. As a trusted back-end arm and closer, he compiled 87.1 innings, a 2.68 ERA, 78 strikeouts, and 10 saves across his GVSU career. His performance earned him Honorable Mention All-GLIAC honors as a junior and Second Team All-GLIAC recognition as a senior.

Following his collegiate career, Goebel received multiple professional opportunities but ultimately chose to pursue coaching full-time. He has since coached several seasons of high-level travel baseball and high school baseball, earning numerous tournament titles and contributing to significant team success at the prep level. His coaching style reflects both his competitive pedigree and his commitment to athlete development.

At SC4, Coach Goebel plays an integral role in advancing the Skippers’ pitching development, competitive culture, and on-field success.
