Paul Fry was a joy to watch on the pitching mound for the Skippers. The left-hander dominated opposing hitters with a powerful fastball and mix of breaking pitches. His outstanding performance did not go unnoticed. Following the 2013 season, Fry was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 17th round of the MLB Amateur Draft.

“My favorite memories from SC4 are the relationships with the people I was closest with during my time there,” said Fry. “One of those people being head coach Mike Greene, who passed away in 2022. He was the first person to instill in me that I could pitch in the Major Leagues one day. I took his words to heart and I made sure to work hard every single day to make him proud.”

Fry was named the Seattle Mariners minor league “Relief Pitcher of The Year” in 2015. After climbing his way up the Mariners minor league system, Fry was traded to the Baltimore Orioles in 2017.  He made his MLB debut against the Los Angeles Angels on June 28, 2018, throwing 1 and 2/3 scoreless innings while striking out three-time MVP and likely future MLB Hall of Fame hitter Mike Trout.

Fry remained with the Orioles for five seasons from 2018-2022 before being traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks during the summer of 2022. He spent most of the season with the Diamondbacks AAA team, the Reno Aces. As a relief pitcher, Fry helped the team win the AAA Pacific Coast League championship. Fry’s big-league career is still being written as he signed with the Toronto Blue Jays for the 2023 season and will be competing in Spring Training for a spot on their Opening Day roster.

During the MLB off-season, Paul enjoys spending time with his wife Paige, and their two children, Forrest and Ivy.
