Al Perry just had a natural talent for the game of golf.
Following his graduation from Marysville High School, Perry arrived at SC4 to golf for the Skippers under hall of fame coach Robert “Sam” Kromer. The decision served him well as he was an outstanding player for some of Kromer’s powerhouse golf teams which consistently competed at the state and national level in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
After college, Perry stayed in the area as an instructor at SC4. He continued to be one of the best amateur golfers not only in the Blue Water Area, but throughout the State of Michigan. He is one of just two golfers to win a club championship at all three of the private courses in Port Huron (Port Huron Golf Club, St. Clair Golf Club, and Black River Country Club).
