Ryan Cyplik was a great force on the course for the SC4 Golf Team during the 2006-07 and the 2008-2009 seasons. During his sophomore season at the MCCAA Championships, he shot an impressive opening round of 67. He went on to place 6th at the NJCAA Region 12 Championship.
After missing the cut to qualify for the NJCAA tourney by just 2 strokes his freshman season, his dominance on the links during his sophomore year sent him to the NJCAA Golf National Tournament in Scottsboro, Alabama. He had an impressive first round shooting a 68, followed by rounds of 77, 76 and 73 ultimately placing 17th in America.
“Ryan was likely the best ball striker in our entire region and a great teammate too” said head golf coach Dale Vos. “When his putter was on, he could score really low and consistently led our team during his two seasons.”
Cyplik reflected upon his time with the Skippers and stated he “was very happy to achieve his goal of reaching the NJCAA Championships and he is thankful for his coaches and teammates who created an enjoyable experience.”
His favorite memory as an athlete at SC4 was the spring break trip to Orange County National golf course in Florida. Cyplik recalls, “It was a great time to spend an entire week bonding with your teammates and competing. The facility at Orange County allowed us a unique experience with the executive course and putting green under the lights.” Cyplik shared the experience “was something he is grateful for to this day.”
Ryan resides in Marysville with his wife Holly and their two children, Remi and Porter. He works in Supply Chain Management at the ZF Marysville Axle Plant.
